#PurpleLightUp: IPN joins campaign to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities

December 1st, 2022

December 3rd is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Organizations, companies and public institutions use this day to raise public awareness of the rights and concerns of people with disabilities and to campaign for their autonomous and equal participation.

This year, for the first time, the IPN is also participating in the PurpleLightUp campaign and sending out a purple signal for the economic autonomy of people with disabilities. As the subject of 'disability' often still plays a subordinate role in the context of diversity, making this significant diversity dimension visible is an important step towards an inclusive working world. About 15% of all people have a disability; however, 80% of disabilities are not visible. The IPN is committed to employing people with disabilities and their peers and to contributing to a barrier-free and equal opportunity society.
