Educational Measurement and Data Science

The Department of Educational Measurement and Data Science was established as an independent department of the IPN in 2015 and encompasses a team of educational researchers, psychometricians, and psychologists. In its research the department addresses statistical and methodological challenges in mathematics and science education as well as educational research. The department’s primary focus is on four research subjects: evaluation and further improvement of multilevel modeling techniques, psychometric models for measuring achievement, techniques for handling missing data, and estimation of causal effects with non-experimental data. In addition, the department offers regular training events like workshops for researchers from the other IPN departments.
