The integration of digital related competencies in the teacher education is still a current challenge at the universities. In this article two explorative design-based studies are presented for the sub-ject-integrated promotion of digitalization related competencies of pre-service teachers in basic courses, which show different implementation possibilities. The first deals with the development of an integrated design for the promotion of media didactic competencies in a mathematics edu-cation course, while the second integratively focusses on the initiation of basic computer science competencies in a German language education course.
