IPN Researcher Elected to the Board of the Federal Association of School Labs
Dr. Christine Köhler, research associate in the IPN Department of Chemistry Education, was elected to the extended board of the German Association of Student Laboratories (LernortLabor) at the 18th annual meeting of the Association of Student Laboratories (LernortLabor) in Göttingen.
The Federal Association LernortLabor is the leading lobby group for student laboratories in German-speaking countries and represents extracurricular learning sites that focus on independent work, discovery, research and development in an authentic environment, such as a laboratory or workshop. In her role as a board member, Christine Köhler, who in addition to coordinating the Schleswig-Holstein student research centers is also the director of the Kieler Forschungswerkstatt student research center, the student laboratory operated by the IPN in collaboration with Kiel University, will serve as a decision-maker in the future, supporting, among other things, LernortLabor's mission of networking student laboratories on a national and international level as well as the regional and local cooperation of its members.
The Student Lab Atlas 2023 was also published during the annual conference. The atlas, which provides an overview of student laboratories in Europe, was published by LernortLabor in collaboration with the IPN. A digital version of the Student Lab Atlas, which is continuously updated, is freely accessible here.
