How can we be ready for the pandemics of the future? The Leibniz Lab Pandemic Preparedness has the answers – on its new website

The Leibniz Lab Pandemic Preparedness is a joint endeavor brought into being by 41 Leibniz Association research institutes, among them the IPN. Its new website, www.leibniz-lab-pandemic-preparedness.de, launched on June 10, 2025.

The Lab’s purpose is to promote interdisciplinary research into preparedness for future pandemics and raise its scientific and public profile. As well as detailing the Lab’s central research foci, the website includes a blog featuring easily understandable content for a broad audience; there are podcasts, videos and brief reads on topics such as the WHO Pandemic Agreement and the credibility of scientific research. You’ll also find a short film in which members of the Lab’s steering committee explain its objectives, talking about what they do, why society needs them to do it, and what exactly happens in the Lab.
