A school’s collection of chemicals includes between 300 and 1500 chemicals that must be managed properly in accordance with regulations, e.g. the RiSU (guideline for safety in science and technical education). Additionally, before carrying out an experiment in the classroom, a risk assessment must be carried out and the result must be recorded. There are various aids for this, which are available in printed form and online. The article lists important sources and provides practical tips that make it easier for teachers to deal with experiments in the classroom.
