Students’ views about scientists’ activities constitute a basis for vocational orientation in the field of science. Previous instruments are not able to cover students’ views about the wide field of modern scientists’ activities. This article presents the development and testing of the Nature of Scientists (NoSt)—questionnaire. It contains scales to analyze students’ interests and their self-efficacy next to their views about scientists’ activities. The instrument is based on Hollands’ RIASEC-model (Psychological Reports 12, 547–594, 1963, Making vocational choices: A theory of vocational personalities and work enviroments, 1997). Quality criteria and first results about students´ views, interests and their self-efficacy according to scientists’ activities are reported.
