The influence of an environmental education program on students' environmental knowledge about the Wadden Sea

The WaddenSea characterizes the North Sea coast. Also due to various threats it is necessary to teach students about it. Therefore, a school-based environmental education program was developed and implemented with 157 learners. In order to assess the impact of thisintervention on environmental knowledge, a knowledge test was designed and its suitability was empirical tested. The main study shows a significant short-term and long-term change in environmental knowledge by means of a one-factor analysis of variance with repeated measures.
