Scientific Committee
The IPN's Scientific Committee (Wissenschaftsausschuss, WA) is its internal point of contact for considering proposals for planned research projects. It also supports the academic and professional wellbeing of the Institute’s researchers, arranging CPD and seeking to improve the working environment. A particular emphasis of the Committee’s remit relates to attracting promising early career academics to the IPN by ensuring that it provides a high-quality setting for doctoral researchers. The Committee also assists with research planning and with the compiling of reports.
The IPN’s staff regularly elects nine of its number to serve on the Committee. Seven members are researchers who are past the doctoral stage of their careers; one member represents the interests of the IPN’s doctoral researchers, and one is from the Institute’s administrative and support services.
