The main objective of this article is to describe the results of a first pilot phase of 122 items which are aimed to measure mathematical competence of four to six year old children in German kindergartens. In contrast to other tests the item pool does not include the content area of quantity only, but also the content areas of measurement, space and shape, data and chance and change and relationships. Results from a sample of N=469 children are presented, which provide first insights in the test items' quality.
