Tom Ehrhart, PhD student in the Leibniz-Junior Research Group "COMET" at the IPN, receives the Best JURE Paper Award of the EARLI SIG 2 Conference 2020

Every two years, the Special Interest Group 2 (SIG 2) of the EARLI (European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction) presents the JURE Award for the best research work submitted by young researchers at its conference. Due to the Corona Pandemic, this year's conference of the Special Interest Group "Comprehension of Texts and Graphics" was not held at Charles University in Prague as planned, but exclusively digitally.

This year the prize was awarded to Tom Ehrhart for his contribution "Computer-based multimedia testing: Effects of picture animation and text modality". Prof. Alexander Eitel announced the decision on behalf of the committee at the end of the conference.

The research paper submitted by Tom Ehrhart deals with the effects of static and animated images in connection with read aloud versus written content in computer-based test items. More than 450 students from Schleswig-Holstein were examined in the presented experimental study. Mr. Ehrhart is doing his doctorate in the COMET project under the supervision of Dr. Marlit Lindner in the Department of Educational Science and Educational Psychology at the IPN in Kiel.
