Confirmation of the permanent certificate with which the IPN is awarded for its family-friendly personnel policy by berufundfamilie Service GmbH.
For many years, the IPN has endeavored to create structures that support the compatibility of family, job and career. As early as 2006, the IPN received the berufundfamilie Service GmbH certificate for its family-friendliness. From then on, the IPN's family-friendliness was again put to the test every three years. Following temporary certificates provided per the procedure, the IPN received the permanent certificate on June 1, 2017, which has now been reconfirmed.
Over the past years, many processes have been initiated or measures established at the IPN that serve to reconcile family, work and career. For example, a daycare for five children under the age of three, the IPN-Sprotten, was established in August 2013. In addition to this "visible" facility, there is a whole range of supporting measures at the IPN that have led to a better compatibility of family, job and career and to a family-friendly culture at the institute. Among other things, this bundle of measures ensures that young researchers who become parents during their qualification phase can continue to pursue their qualification goal. The IPN can thus score points with its family-friendliness when it comes to attracting outstanding young researchers to the IPN.
The berufundfamilie audit is the central service of berufundfamilie Service GmbH and is based on an initiative of the non-profit Hertie Foundation. As a strategic management tool, the audit supports employers in sustainably shaping family- and life-phase-conscious HR policies as well as family-friendly conditions for work, research and study. An independent board of trustees with prominent representatives from business, science, politics and associations decides whether to award or confirm the berufundfamilie audit certificate.
