Delegation of education policy representatives visit the IPN

Today, a delegation of the education policy representatives of the CDU/CSU parliamentary groups is visiting the IPN.

Representatives of the federal states will discuss questions concerning mathematics and science education with researchers at the IPN. After a brief introduction of the institute by the Executive Scientific Director Prof. Dr. Olaf Köller, the discussion with other IPN directors will focus, among other things, on the questions of how much mathematics is needed by first-year students who have chosen a subject beyond the STEM subjects and how learning is developing in a digitized world. The delegation will take a look at the practical side of things when it visits a hands-on seminar for schoolchildren, also taking place today at the IPN, in which 3-D printers will be used.
