AI Strategy and DARIUS Project: Delegation of the Telekom Foundation visits IPN

A delegation of the Telekom Foundation accompanied by the chairman of the board Dr. Thomas de Maizière is visiting the IPN today. The reason and core topic of the visit is the AI project "DARIUS" (Digital Argumentation Instruction for Science), which started last year at the IPN and is funded by the Telekom Foundation.

Led by Dr. Thorben Jansen, the project investigates how students' written scientific reasoning can be supported with the help of automated formative assessments. The goal is to develop a digital learning tool which helps students learn and train this argumentation.

The delegation of the Telekom Foundation will get an insight into the project status and talk to the project members Dr. Lars Höft, Nils-Jonathan Schaller and Lucas Bahr during their visit. In addition, Prof. Dr. Olaf Köller, Executive Scientific Director of the IPN, as well as Ilka Parchmann, Head of the Department of Chemistry Education, will give the guests an insight into the AI strategy and thus the various other AI projects at the IPN, which include the DARIUS project.
